Orlando Sod Care Information
When should I cut my new lawn after having new sod installed?
|
| You should generally wait 30 days or until fully rooted prior to mowing. You can tell once the lawn is rooted if you pull up on a piece of sod and it doesn't raise up off of the ground. St. Augustine should be cut at a minimum of 4" in height. If your mower will accomodate a higher setting it is better to mow it as tall as possible, and then mow a second time a day or two later at the 4" mark. This will create less stress on your new lawn when you are cutting it for that first time. It is important to make sure you have sharp lawn mower blades as well. |
